Greetings to all Nevada self-storage owners, we wanted to provide a brief update on how your NVSSA membership works for you. The Nevada State Legislature is in session and we are on the ground in Carson City. An invaluable often invisible benefit of NVSSA membership is that we are regularly advocating the Nevada legislature in support of self-storage owner operators. We strive to give a voice not only to the large urban owners but also to the one shop mom and pop rural facilities. Our board of directors is currently working toward legislation initiatives that will clarify the role of Self Storage proprietors to sell content insurance at the time of the rental contract agreement. We have had a number of successes including vital changes to SB-150 and AB-182. Detailed changes are available for viewing at www.nvssa.org! We need your support to continue to be effective. Our annual fundraiser is fast approaching and the SSA Fall Conference will be here before we know it! Sponsorship, networking and recognition opportunities are available. Call Valerie at 702-952-2455 to inquire about how you can contribute to making valuable legislative change in Nevada.
NVSSA membership is a great investment for your facility. Our members benefit from free legal information, free education sessions and an organization that responds to your needs as an owner operator. Our monthly networking breakfasts are growing and we invite you to attend either in Reno or Las Vegas as our guest. Visit our website or call for more information. We have also developed a lease fully compliant with Nevada lien laws that is available to members only in a variety of formats at unbelievably low rates. Your NVSSA membership also offers affiliation with the National SSA at no additional cost. A single facility can reap all these benefits for the incredibly low price of $200. Come visit us at www.nvssa.org and do some exploring. Don’t forget to sign up to receive our emails so that you are in the loop on self-storage happenings in Nevada.
